Every Sunday, after participating in the opening part of the Sunday worship service, children ages 2-18 are invited to attend Sunday School . Using age- appropriate interactive lessons and activities, the younger members of the church are introduced to scripture and are provided with the opportunity to learn, explore, and develop their faith in a safe and caring Christian community. Knox Sunday School children also participate in various extracurricular activities throughout the year including bowling, games nights, the dramatization of the Christmas story and summer camp. Camp Cairn ( Glen Mohr) is a Presbyterian Church camp in nearby Baysville and Sunday School children who wish to attend are sponsored by the Church. Recently the children have supported this part of Knox outreach by doing artwork and offering their creations to the Congregation for a donation to the summer camp fund. One Sunday every year, they host the after-church fellowship luncheon, exploring the spiritual gift of hospitality. The children also have a ministry of their own. They create seasonal cards that are sent to our older members and friends at a distance who appreciate seeing the next generation participate meaningfully in the Great Commission. Bookmarks were made by the children to be used in the pew Bibles and Hymnals in the Sanctuary and for distribution to the Congregation. As a culmination of their study on Prayer, this spring and summer under the direction of our Sunday School teachers, the children will design and create a prayer garden on the lakeside church property-creating a space for spiritual nourishment as well as food for bees and butterflies.
