Flourish Project
Taking our church into the future requires some new strategies. One way to begin to consider how to move forward is to use the Flourish Project. The basic principle being that we figure out what is already working in our church and how can we do more of it. It is a strength- based approach to change. Rev. Richard White would facilitate this process. The process involves 5 steps:
Is this something you would like to do? Please speak to Chris if you would like to participate in the Flourish Project. When did you feel this church was closest to God? Let’s find out what God has been doing among us and let’s get on board with His plan. |
Clerk’s Corner
April 24, 2026 Spring has finally arrived. At my house, spring clean-up work can begin. Outdoor yard work is mostly Ian’s responsibility while I look after the flowerbeds and indoor cleaning. There is a lot to do so we each do what we are best at to get the work done. I thought of this need to call on our strengths to divide the labour after the session meeting earlier this week. As a congregation, we have a lot of work ahead of us not only in preparing for Rev. Steven’s retirement, but also in creating new initiatives to grow our fellowship and outreach. One of our new initiatives is to support the Hope Awaits Ministry in North Bay that Rev. Dale is involved with. At this time, we will support their work through donations of socks and other essential clothing, toiletries and non-perishable food items. So, when you are out shopping, consider picking up a few extra items for Hope Awaits. Our congregation will also be undertaking the Flourish Project. This is a strength-based approach to initiate change to create momentum. For more details on the Flourish Program, scroll down to page two. Rev. Richard White will facilitate this 5 step program to go from Dream to Deliver. How exciting. To be a part of this project, please speak to Chris. We would also like to start a Prayer Group to pray for our church as we go forward with plans in preparation for Re. Steven’s retirement. This group would meet in person once a week. Speak to Catherine if this is where you shine. Finally, if you are talented in writing, we would like to start up a quarterly newsletter. We are open to suggestions, ideas on format, and content. Here is where your creative juices can flow. See Catherine to get started. So, there you have it. Four very different areas where we need your talents and energy. Please consider how you can contribute and where you can help. In a letter from the apostle Peter, he writes: God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings. 1 Peter 4:10 Your Clerk of Session Chris Eastmure |
